Default Water bar Question

Yesterday we were swapping all my parts over from my b16 block to my b18 block. On the water bar (bar on back of block) we couldnt get it to go into the b18 block. it almost looks like the rubber o-rings got stretched some how. I talked to one of my boys and he says the rings are suppose to be a little bit bigger than the bar too ensure a tight seal. i just wanted to clarify this before I go and start cramming the o-rings in there. Thanks any info will be helpful

Its a bit of a tight fit but if you lube them up a little you should be able to easily wiggle it into the housing at the water pump outlet. If you really have to force it something is wrong (and isn't that the case for most things ? )
