VTEC Solenoid help please!!!

How is the circular thing in the middle suppose to be faced??? My Vtec does not engage and i believe this is the problem. THANKS!!!

make it face the bottom left from your picture where the long and shor tside meet

im pretty sure it doesnt matter, i've taken plenty of them apart and never payed attentiong on position, never had preblems
