VTEC problems
Well I've exhausted all avenues of fixing this problem and need some ideas. Motor is a 2L Ls/Vtec running OBD1. Distributor/Head is obd2 with conversion. The motor is in a '00 OBD2b teg running p28 with Hondata s200.
The problem is that the crossover does not happen until 6700 rpm. X-over is set at 5500 rpm.
Here is the laundry list of crap I've done to fix the problem:
1. Rewired entire loom (eg. grounds, vtec lines, distributor, etc..) All connections soldered!
2. Replaced ICM
3. Replaced cap/rotor
4. Ran different plugs/wires
5. Cleaned solenoid
6. Wired vtec directly to ECU bypassing conversion harness
Oil pressure is 50-60psi at rpm's. Head has a GE conversion. This motor was in a 92 EG and was getting x-over at 5500rpm. After recent tune the tuner set x-ver at 6500 initially with a final setting of 6000rpm. I lowered the setting via s200 incar to 5500rpm. The problem was still present before I lowered the x-over.
I will take any ideas at this point!

Does the vtec always engage at exactly the same rpm? Did changing the vtec rpm have any effect at all? If no to both, check the coolant system. Either your computer thinks that 5500rpm is 6700rpm or the requirements for vtec aren't being reached until 6700.
Vtec is engaging at 6700rpm everytime. That's what is getting me. For example, if it was based on say oil pressure it was activate at different rpms based on viscocity and pressure (cold vs hot motor).
What are the chances that the x-ver is "locked"? (ie. when the tuner initially set it at 6500rpm and it is still there)
