Default vtec problem!!! how do i wire it to a switch please help!!!!!!!!

so i recently purchased a 92 civic with a d16a swap into it and i only pain 900. the only thing is where the vtec should engage at 5600 it just hits the rev limiter. so i looked and the green plug on the vtec solinoid is missing so i pulled the plug off my buddys civic and his car did the same thing. so becase i am missing the plug and wires how to i just run it to a switch. i know where the vtec signal wire is on my ecu so how do i go from there because on the plug that is missing it has a place for to wires. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!
