Default Vtec oil pressure switch???

My engine has about 7K miles on it since I've rebuild it. I am having a bad oil burnning problem, I'm going through 3 quarts in about 4 weeks. Can a fualty oil pressure switch cause my engine to burn a lot of oil? My vtec seems to be working fine. Everyone keeps telling me its my valve seals, but I want to cross out all other potentials before I start pulling the head off.
