Default vtec not working need help S2000

s2000 01
Oil pressure is good
vtec solenoid was taken apart and cleaned
Checked the olms on the solenoid and its in range
Tested the solenoid to see if it opens with 12v power and
it does.
Used a computer to see if if after 6000 rpms if it engages and it does
changed the variable timing solenoid didnt help
Im so stumped , pulling my hair.
thought it had to do with my tuning since it has turbo ,
it was on a dyno a was being tuned , then the tuner came in and said that the vtec isnt kicking in . He wasnt sure why except he said maybe my oil relocater . Any help would be great , thanks

This usually happens when the engine is picking up a knock. Did you try reseting your ecu?(take of negative terminal for 10 mins)

Hi installed A greddy turbo kit on my AP1 and started having the same problem with vtec, when I hit 6,000 it falls on its face seems like it trys to engage? This doesnt always happen, the only thing that has changed when I notice the problem is my oil weight and out side air temp was much cooler.I cant say that has anything to do with this problem, any help would be great before I shoot it with both barrels.

Has anyone found A fix for this problem yet? I work at Technicare auto in dallas we just got hondas factory software, my car doesnt always have this problem so it took quite A while to get it to ack up while I had the HIM hooked up doing A drive recording the only codes were missfires on all 4 cyl. I was hopeing for vtec code...playing back the data it shows the pressure switch and solenoid working properly, but the problem occurs when vtec engages. Dont have alot of time to work on my car since its for free....so I will let ya know what I find next.

yes the problem was found, it was bad rocker arms , the old seals leaked and it didnt have enough oil pressure to engage the vtec
