vtec is not working , please help :(
my car currently getting dynoed and this afternoon i got a phone call from the tuner, he said my car couldnt get into vtec, therefore i thought probably my vtec solenoid crapped out or something, so i gave him another one from my spare engine.
changed it and it still didnt wanna hit into vtec, he said he could actually hear the solenoid ticking and working, but it just that the engine didnt wanna hit into vtec
and yes i have got enough oil, this is really really frustrating, any input will be appreciated
thank you

I need help with this also, i lose alot of power when i engage it at 4500 but when i engage it at 6500 it is fine. I dont know what else i could do to get it to work better at a lower setting.
I dont know if any of you are running a chipped ecu, but with a program like TurboEdit I had to go into the hexeditor and fix a line of code then it worked fine..
Make sure you check your grounds..

When I first turbo'd my S2000 I had this same problem because I was tapping the oil source for the turbo from the VTEC solenoid. Someone on S2KI said that they experienced the same issue and fixed it by finding another source. I changed my oil source to the oil filter sandwich relocator and the car immediately made more power when VTEC kicked in.
The guy who pointed this out to me said that the VTEC solenoid wasn't getting enough oil pressure to get the solenoid to kick in the other cam lobes because the turbo was robbing the volume . Makes sense since the oil passageway for the VTEC solenoid is very small, I haven't had an issue since.

is vtec wired up? i had this issue due to the model and year of my car (1993 Civic DX). the 1992's had vtec wired in but the non-si and ex models of the 93-95 didnt. i had this issue and resolved it by running the appropriate wire through the engine harness then pinning it through the chasis harness (connecting to the ecu). just a thought, good luck bud...

Check your oil pan...make sure it's not dented in......usually that is the problem with low riders
You won't get enough oil pressure to engage the vtec. Good luck!
