Default Vtec is not engaging. yes another thread about vtec not working:(

The head I used to do the Mini me swap (D16z6 head) was sitting in the car for about 7 months without running, well my vtec worked in my car for about 2 months, then it started throwing code 21 vtec not working. Well i check all my wires and made sure they were plug in, what else could i do to check it? Someone said maybe that the soleniod can mabye become clogged and that needs to be taken out and cleaned, is that mabye a factor sence my car head was sitting unused for 7 months?

the solenoid filter may be clogged. you can use a ohm-meter to find out if it's the filter. i'm not sure about the limits. think it migth be something like 7-14Ohm. that's between one of the solenoid plug pins and earth.

The solenoid is the round cylinder thing on your IM side of your valve cover.

ok so i was going through checkin all the wires to see if they got cut and, i took my battery out to look where it goes threw the firewall and i see a little nic in the wire. What happend was one of the wires that i installed for vtec had gotten smashed under the battery and was being grounded off, so i moved it and WAMMO vtec is workin yo, Im so happy i was gettin ready to take the solenoid out and clean it if i couldnt find anything wrong with the wires, thanx for the info H T
