Vtec not engaging? Needin help!
Alright, so I just swapped my H23A1 for an H22A. Once we were done, the engine runs VERY strong. The only problem is that the vtec does not engage at all. I purchased a P72 ECU w/Skunk2 chip. The wiring for the vtec is right and the ECU does everything fine (redline 9200, no speed limiter). It will not engage the vtec at all.
I put it in my ecu on a friend of mines H22 swapped car and vtec didn't engage in it either, so my first thought is that its the ECU. Then I put his (P-13) in mine... and vtec still didn't engage. So far, I know I have a screwed P72 ECU. What confuses me is why doesn't his work on mine?
People told me to stick a test light in the vtec solenoid connector but I was also told the vtec signal isn't strong enough to light the bulb. Anyone who might have an idea, plz let me know. Thanks,

get one of those ecu readers... find the codes that coorespond to ur pXX ecu.
Then use the codes to troubleshoot your vtec problem. Best case is that your wiring might have bad connections. Check all phisical connections/ then Vtec solinoids.
Search for more anwsers ( Vtec solinoids/ecu codes )
please excuse my spelling

Is there a check engine light on? Have you checked your oil level? Have you tripple checked the wiring? And are you sure you want to take a H22 to 9200 rpm? Dudue thats not wise at all! But if there is a CEL then pull that code and get back to us. If there is no code check the oil level and wiring . Most times than not its going to be on of those 2 things. Let me know...
