yup, at 6k its back to normal for me too. The guy i bought the motor from said it had itr cams but i doubt it. Never opened the head. So basically stock cams and valvetrain.

probably just your getting kicked out of VTEC once you shift gears... thats how it feels in a b16a... cause i had a jdm b16a in my DA and each time i shifted i was knocked out of vtec and it engaged again.. so that could be your problem i'm not saying it is but it could be.. so good luck on that buddy.

this is funny..i just came in here to post up to say i'm having the same if not similiar problem and i came across this thread mine feels like there's a hestitation too.like it doesn't engage like it used too. i didn't change the cams or valvetrain. stock jdm b16a w/chrome chipped ecu. what sorta things cause your vtec to not engage properly or not as vibrant? no vtec check engine lights.

1. faulty speedometer signal, your speedometer will be spastic and erratic
2. faulty vtec solenoid or loose wire connection
3. dirty or faulty 02 sensor.

I've had problems with all three at one time or another, sometimes all 3 at the same time.

thats exactly whats wrong with my car now, also my speedo would work on and off while im driving. I took out the speed sensor to clean it a little and placed it back, the speedo was working fine but still the needle hesitates a little. Is there a way to fix this problem? thanks

confusatron you're right. i also was having problems with my speedo...exactly what you said.changed the vss and it still did it. then i looked at the actually plug,it wasn't attaching properly, also was dirty and corroded(most likely causing shorting).cleaned it,speedo works fine but still same problem. i'm gonna check the solenoid filter.i heard you can clean it or do you replace it?

you can clean the solenoid filter yourself, just take the 3 bolts off and take the gasket(solenoid filter) off and clean it with oil.
