VTEC Controllers???
I was wondering if anyone here has, or has played with Apex's V-AFC for VTEC engines, or any other VTEC controllers. It looks like a worthy investment but what I'm most curious about is the tuning of it, how it exactly works, and the effects it would have on my engine both positive and negative. Any opinions, comments, or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
I love the V-AFC for it's price. It is very limitlessas far as tuning fuel as long as you keep a reasonably sized injector in there. I'm very impressed with it's tuning ability as I've used it in all-motor and turbo cars. The only feature I wish it had is fuel maps based on engine load.
yes indeed, they do wonders if they're tuned correctly... so get the V-AFC and go have it tuned on the dyno... you'll optomize your performance, play with the VTEC threshold, and as a bonus, get better fuel economy!
a prelude guy i know got 30hp after tuning... he was charged 60$ for 3 pulls on the dyno...I added fuel to my mix and it "felt" a lot stronger...
I was at the track and I was messing with the VAFC and some redneck guy looked in my car and said..."man thats purtty bad when ya gotta program yur stureo just to go down tha' race track!" i quietly thought.."go away **** head"

here in the DC metro area... they charge by the half hour or by the hour... so tuning can take up to two hours (usually 1.5 though)... and tuning per half hour is ~$75 and ~$125 for a full hour...
