i have a b16 in my crx too and I have the stock spedo cable and my vtec works. I may be wrong here but i think the vss is only needed to run the sir guage cluster, which needs an electronic speed sensor not cable.

with the crx cluster.. the cable drives the speedo, then the cluster outputs a vss signal to the ecu, giving your ecu a vss signal for VTEC..

But you should get a chip, because with those ecu's they will shut off at 115 mph!!

check out http://www.racingchips.com good prices and custom made chips for you..
