It all started Monday night when I relocated my battery to the passenger compartment. My battery had 2 wires going off of it, one to the fuse block and one to the starter. I just ran one wire to the starter, and other from the starter to the fuse block. I grounded it at the parking brake. Everything was going good until this morning, when I noticed the car cranked up slow. I left my friends house and it cranked even slower. We were heading down the highway about 3 minutes later, and I see my temperature gauge climbing fast. It was about 2/3 of the way up. I pull over real quick to make sure I didn't blow a radiator hose off or anything. Everything looks good, so we figure that we will try to get it back to my friends house. I go to start it up, and I notice that only about half of my dash lights come on. Normally my car starts without me pushing in the clutch. I try to start it, and nothing happens. The solenoid doesn't even click. I push in my clutch pedal, and all of my lights come on and my fuel pump primes, but when I try to start it, all I get is a solenoid click. We tow it over to my work, and I test it and I have a bad ground. I run a new ground wire all the way back up to the engine bay at the stock grounding point, the tranny bracket. Then, the car starts up and I'm heading home, but I look at my temperature gauge and its almost at 2/3 up again. I cut it off real quick and stop to think. I let my car cool for a while and decide I'm just going to run it home, because my house is only a mile away. Then, on my way, I realize that when the car is running, my E-brake light and clock flicker between dim and bright. And I also notice that if my foot is off the clutch pedal, my temperature gauge will climb quickly and my e-brake light and clock will flicker. But when I push the clutch down my temperature gauge settles down to the real reading and my lights don't flicker. I'm stumped, and I'm not an expert in tracking down wires. Please help me guys, otherwise I have to wait until Monday to get it looked at.
it has to have a good ground...a crx i was working on a few weeks ago had a similar prob....the battery wasnt ground'd too good to the chassis and when he turned on the key the temp would go all the way up, no lights, no radio, no horn./...make sure all of your grounds are good and also that the guage wire/cable is "optimal"

Since you mentioned that, I decided to go try it again. My horn doesn't work, my turn signals just make a buzzing sound, and when I turn my lights on my tach goes up to 2000 RPM with the car off. I went and cleaned all my grounds, sanded them down real good and tightened everythng up, but no difference. When I push my clutch pedal in, my horn works, my turn signals work, and my lights are good.
Edit: Just to let you know I'm using 4 gauge wire for the ground, 4 gauge wire to the brass bolt on the starter solenoid, and 8 gauge wire from the brass bolt to the fuse block.

maybe try running a shorter ground cable..maybe like 1 ft or so..also. does the engine have good gounds?? ("trans ground" and the "valve cover ground")

I'm going to go out tonight and run another ground from the negative terminal to my parking brake, and another from my tranny ground point to a bolt on my battery tray. I'm hoping that will do it. Any more ideas?
not really, but please post, if it works or it doesnt work
..have you checked all of the fuses..
hows the alternator?? is the ground tight on there??

ground the fuse block cable on the inside of the engine bay somewhere on the frame. then ground the cable from the battery somewhere on the car near the battery. it worked for me.

I fixed it. I went to Autozone and got some battery cable lugs, crimped them onto some of the 4 gauge wire I had left and attached it to my negative battery terminal and to a bolt on my parking brake assembly. This gave me 2 grounds, one at the parking brake, and one at the tranny bracket where the stock one was. Now I'm going to order my Odyssey battery.
