yes if you have the car up in the air withthe motor off and spin one tire in one direction then the other will go oppisite

THANK YOU. ok mine spin the same way.. and my axles do not come out with a crowbar... i think my diff is locked somehow. it kinda happened from out of nowhere, is this a common occurance with d-series cable trannies?? anyone have any idea about what could have happened? thanks again.

That's true if it's in gear (manual) or in park (auto). If it's in neutral, it might go either way or maybe not turn at all. Depends on brake drag & bearing preloads.
If it's in gear (or park) and the differential is seized, it shouldn't be able to turn at all.

I haven't had to take my axles out yet, but people say you have to pry kinda hard. Make sure the car doesn't fall of the stands...

just a follow up on a really old thread -
turned out my spider gears were broken, thats why the wheels turned the same way and why the axles were stuck.. not sure if its common to break diffs or not.

its been fixed, a long time ago, i just did a search on myself and saw that i never concluded this thread, so i thougth i would. i didn't break it doing burnouts.
