Valvetrain on B16
I recently purchased a set of ITR cams for use in my'99 Civic Si. I decided to upgrade the valvetrain with ITR outer springs and Port Flow inner springs. I am now hearing from some sources that the Port Flows are too stiff and will score/ wear down the rocker arms or worse, wear down the cams themselves! I really don't want to start off on the wrong foot by doing this install improperly so I would like to get some of your feedback. I plan on doing some type of forced induction late fall, and I'm planning on setting the rev limit to 8,500-8,600 rpm. Please tell me if I'm heading in the right direction or not....
I don't think they will cause the problems you listed. But I would rather use Portflow outers/ITR inners rather than the ITR outers/Portflow inners.
**alot of people are using that set-up you are correct, but in my experiences it hasn't worked as well for me as other options, perhaps it was a fluke**

Why do you say that? I thought that stronger inner springs keep cams from binding the springs. So you don't think that I should really worry too much? Why then are people telling me this?
