I recently adjusted my valves, when i was finished there was NO tapping anymore. I have omni springs and retainers and supertech valves with GSR cams. There is no valve noise at all but I am wondering is that too tight? I plan on pulling the valve cover tomorrow when it's cold again and checking it out, but I wanted an opinion.

 

No tapping is what you want to why does it worry you? Did you adjust lash to the spec for the GSR cams?

 

Just most Honda's I hear have the tapping, lol

 

the tapping you hear on most hondas might be the lost motion assemblies. mine are tapping pretty loud even after a valve adjustment. boo.

 

It is possible they are too tight, but properly adjusted valves don't make noise. Did you adjust the valves to the GSR specs or to the specs on your engine. Remember, valve lash specs are cam specific only. So if you use different cams they need to be adjusted to the specs for the cams.

 

I would re-check if your not sure. Too tight would be noticable it the power output. But just a little bit too much could cause the exhaust valves not to seat/close 100% and possibly over a period of time overheat.
