Valves spring too stiff?????
Trending Topics
you should've use the same brand valve springs with ur cams...
Alot of times, cams break using their corresponding valve springs. Jun is an example.

If Spoon tend to wear Toda cams will wear too.
id either say oil is too thin or that the spring height is wrong. on jun cams/spring combos they specifically say that the spring height should be a certain height, and if it isnt you may experience improper functioning causing binding or fatugue.
Manufacture Recommend
Spring Pressure installed: 51 LBS
Spring Pressure 11MM lift : 178 LBS
Spring Pressure 11.5MM : 187 LBS
The spec of valve spring I used:
Spring Pressure installed: 118 LBS
Spring Pressure 11MM lift: 240 LBS
Spring Pressure 11.5MM lift: 250 LBS
Do you think there're any problem??

I would use ITR Intake springs for both intake and exhaust for these cams.
even so that looks like a lot of abnormal wear. I would also suspect oiling
issues.

word on the street is Spoon is notorious for that happening to their cams...ive even heard of someone using the Spoon valvetrain and it still happend!!..then someone else replied that he also needed the rocker arms..which means you need the whole valvetrain..!
Katman says he uses the Spoon intake cam and ITR exhaust cam because the spoon exhaust is more likely to be damaged....
Spoon is one that has their cams made from Honda...
....or it could be your oil, lack of oil supply.....?

could it possibly be the 10,000rpm in your sig?
also, is the cam damage just the wear marks on the lobe? My cams have always looked like that.

How about maybe you forgot to put back the little dowel pin and the O ring maybe thats why your not getting oil to the cam shaft..And if your taking it to 10k all the time you only have 80 psi of oil going threw the oil filter and by the time it gets to the rails its 60 to 65 psi. In Vtec.So hitting 10k alot will make the cam do that..and not having the right valve adjustment too...It has nothing to do with valve spring being to stiff. Its because you live in the RED zone alot......
And most of the time cams break because of people not knowing what they are doing..most of them dont even check for Coil bind. Now that will make a Cam break...And valve to piston clearences

i have 70psi installed springs on my Sohc, have no problems liek that on mine...
now that you say its 0-40w
thats probably the problem top thin of oil for the spring psi and cam profile
