Default Valve Springs???

As far as changing the valve springs. I have a ls/vtec with gsr pistons int it and a slightly milled b18c1 head. I am planning on putting ITR cams in it and I want to change the valve springs. Is it better to change the gsr spring out for ITR springs or put in some stiffening springs?

Most people agree that typer springs should be good for about 8500. If it was my car, i would go with them and maybe some ti retainers to play it safe.

That's an excellent way to do it. In general you want the lightest spring pressure you can get away with for the cams and rpm's you're gonna run. The reason for running a little stiffer springs than stock is because the ITR cams are slightly more aggressive, but mainly you'll probably increase the redline and at 9000 rpm, you need slightly stiffer springs to get the valves back to "closed" position in a real hurry so you don't get "valve float".
