Default valve spring removal

I'm posting this for a buddy.. he's having difficulties removing the valves springs from a b17 head.. he said he's used two different spring compressors and cant get them out.. is there a special tool for the vtec honda heads or a certain way you're suppose to take them out?.. thanks for any help

the easiest way to remove the springs is to take a socket (deep 17mm) and tap it on the end of the retainer with a hammer , careful to do this where u wont loose ne thing cus the keepers are really small, also a magnet helps out might take a few wacks but ull get it

sorry to revive this thread, but thank you, racerboy, after buying 2 different tools, i searched, and i came up with the answers i need. feel so stupid but wutta gonna do?
