Default valve spring problem

I am having a problem with my valve springs. I bought a set of skunk2 dual springs and fitted them with a set of aftermarket retainers, that I dont know the make of. So I then found that my outer spring is OK, but the inner is binding and I need like 4mm for this to be Ok. Can I use retainers from one manufacturer and springs from another? Or should I stay with one manufacturer or Brand?
Any motor building or tech's that has come across this problem plse help!!!!
I am running Jun spec3's. 12mm lift on intake.

I usually like to stay with one manufacturer when it comes to matching up springs and retainers unless you do some measuring first. See if the retainer is machined for dual springs. It may be seating the inner alot lower than the outer.

Yes that is the situation. I have measured up and found the inner spring to be lower than it should be.
