Valve Seals & Retainers
When my car goes in for a top end build next weekend, is it really necesary to change the valve seals?? I bought them just in case, but I just want to know if it's a good idea to change them while everything's apart (kindof like a timing belt change)???
Also, I planned on running titanium retainers... I know that the new retainers are necessary if you plan on revving to the limit (Skunk2 says 10.5K with springs/valves/retainers)... This isn't what I plan to do, so can I stick with my stock retainers? I've been reading alot about titanium retainers galling and then consequently failing, and they should be changed after 30K?? I don't want to go through the trouble, so can I just put my stock retainers back in? I'll be running a full Skunk2 top end (Stage 2 cams, valves, springs and maybe retainers)... What's your opinion on the whole retainer thing??
Thanks for any info you can give to me...
