Valve Noise (Searched already)

I've read about the faint ticking in all Hondas, but I"m curious about when the engine is cold. My valves tick loud in the cold mornings when I accelerate (not hard, 1/4 throttle), and goes away after warming up.
I recently did a valve adjustment before it started getting cold out (did the adjustment with an outside temp of 80F, engine had sat overnight). Should this loud ticking be present when it's cold out, or do I need to adjust my valves when it's coldest out (have the car sit all day, and adjust them at night???) I'd really like to know, as I don't care for the ticking in the mornings.

It's just the lack of warm viscous oil when it's cold out and the oil is thick. Engine are designed to operate at certain temperatures. Your actually supposed to let it warm all the way up before driving during the winter. I suppose they don't teach that in drivers ed. or anything do they? America is in the "throw away car" stage right now.
I was just checking to see if it's normal. I do let my car warm up every morning because of this. It has always done it, I finally got around to asking. Thanks for the replies.
its normal! my friend got on it when he was driving my car when i first got it back from the swap-shop, and it would click really fast because he brought it up to 7000
i about kicked his *** for not letting it warm up first!!

For some motors you'll wanna switch to 5w-30 in the winter when it gets below 40 degrees. 10w-30 just doesn't work as well in the winter.
Check your owner's manual first.
