Default valve cover gasket

I have to replace 2 plug cover bolts/nuts plus the front left valve cover nut, so i have to take the cover off, is it necessary to also replace the valve cover gasket with a new one or can i just re-use the old one, also is there any sealant that i have to use either with the original gasket or new on when i put the valve cover back on?

i dont know but i would say that its the original gasket so its been on 72k miles and 8 years (1994) so i guess i should get a new one! Is there a difference between the ITR gasket and GSR one as the ITR is the only B18 engined car officially sold over here, or will a B16A gasket be the same..?

teken i tried that link but cant find anywhere that it shows the difference in the gaskets, as there is obviously a difference in the 2, i'm going to be in bother as my car was never officially imported over here and was only available as a grey import, so i'm going to have to try and get the gasket from japan....which could take weeks

A little off topic, but have you had the timing belt replaced. 8 years is pushing your luck.

yeah the timing belt was changed 15k ago, about 1.5 years ago, I forgot about that, if thats the case then maybe it was replaced, i'll wait and see what sort of condition its in when i take the cover off and judge from then!
