valve adjustment, quick please help!!
I posted this in another thread group i dont know which one would be the right one, sry. I recently adjusted my valves on my b16 and my quarter mile suffered from it. i adjusted tehm according to c-speedracing.com which is .006 intake and .007 exhaust. i was wondering if anyone has a b16 with stock cams and valvetrain and what they ahve their valves adjsuted to. i have a jdm b16 second gen, does anyone know waht the valves should bea djusted to, any help would be appreciated. thanks.
I seriously doubt that the valve adjustment hurt your 1/4 time unless you adjusted them drastically out of spec. If anything, your times probably suffered due to other factors, like driving.

Right. Adjusting the valves doesnt effect how long they stay open, it serves the purpose of preventing valve-valve or valve-piston contact. As Mr. S said you shouldnt notice any gains/losses froma valve adjustment - just a quieter valve train and the security of knowning that you adjusted them CORRECTLY!
