Valve adjustment is needed every 15k miles.
I dont think it is necessary when breaking in, but if you want to, it couldn't hurt.

Change your oil after break in, and go have fun.

valve adjustment is suggested after 500 miles on the rebuilt engine.

Says me... Actually if it's new cams in there. I check the valvelash after the first time the motor goes through a heat cycle. If they are used cams then it could probably wait a little while.

No way, do your valve lash the way the cam spec sheet says to do it, and your good.

I always go through and check each valve clearance again once I finish setting them the first time.

If it says do it hot, go drive around block and do it again.
If it says cold, your good.

UTI does not say to redo valve clearance after break in.
ASE does not say to do it.
Porsche does not say to do it.
Honda does not say to do it.

But like I originally said, it doesnt hurt to recheck if you want, but I think it is not necessary at all.

I've built several Honda engines in the last 5 years, and I KNOW that your valve lash will change from the initial build to the 1000 mile mark. I make it a standard procedure on a new build at 1000 miles to retorque the head, reset the valve lash, and change the oil. From there on, its valve adjustment every 15k, and oil every 2500, just like normal.
