Default VAFC Question, tune and remove?

I picked up an EG with a JDM GSR swap and a beefed up valvetrain, CTR cams and AEM adjustable gears.

The previous owner had tuned with a VAFC and then removed it.

My question is that if the VAFC is removed, do the mixture settings that it modifies go back to stock or are they stored?

I think he may have done this with the Eric's Racing P28 ECU that he gave me (stock P72 is currently installed), but I'm not sure. I'm worried that any stored settings may be screwing my chances of passing smog by running too rich.

the setting are stored on the vafc itself and if your running a stock computer you shouldnt have any problems
