URGENT! VAFC 4th Gen Prelude - JDM h22a - jdm p13 - code 21
I am installing a VAFC into a 1992 prelude si with a jdm h22a swap and I am getting code 21 as soon as I start the vehicle. It is putting the car into limp mode and will not rev past 6500 rpm with no vtec engagement.
I wired the AFC according to the diagram, I do *NOT* have the VTM wire hooked up (it is not pinned into the harness) and the afc has sensors set @ 06 06 / 4 cyl throttle up and to the right / everythign else is 0 across the board using 4500/4200 as vtec engagement settings.
As stated in the topic the ecu is a jdm p13.

Hey nick it is Ronnie that came in the other day. I have the USDM P13 and installed my V-AFC and have no problems or codes. I have the VTM hooked up. I installed the V-AFC yesterday. Let me know if you want me to bring down that P13 for you to try. I assume it is for Alan's ride. Later.

There is your answer, when you dont have Blue VTM hooked up you throw code 21 Vtec oil pressure switch at high rpms.

Just a quick question... does anybody have a good pinout of the jdm p13 ecu? I have one but it is missing quite a bit and I would like something to put into my docs that I have for the misc. **** I've worked on.
VTM is not listed in the pinout that I have and I would like to just double check whats what with the ECU.

I don't know about P13s but here is the situation with PR3's. The factory pin out does not list a VTM wire, it actually is the positive wire of the VTEC Oil Pressures switch. On the PR3 install you cut the wire from the VTEC oil pressure switch. So now that it is cut you have two pieces, on coming out of the ECU, and one coming from the VTEC Oil pressure switch. The one coming from the pressure switch you just tape off, so you're not using the VTEC Oil Pressure switch anymore. The one coming out of the ECU you hook up to the blue wire (VTM) of the VAFC. Hope this helps you.
