00-SI b16a2--My brother reset the ecu and vtec engages but it feels so weak(barely there) now...1st sign of vtec in a week...still dont know where problems lies whether its the speedsensor, tps,or something more serious? VTEC would not engage at all and its feels like sohc without it...

Yes!! vtec does indeed have a safe mode!!
such as...vtec wont engage if the engine is cold
....no loads on the motor.
Do a search....who knows maybe you have a bad vtec selenoid or something.

yeah search for it, there are a few things that could be wrong... how much oil is in the car? How cold is the engine when you try vtechin? are there any CELs? You might try to pull off the vtec solenoid and making sure the screen is clean... It's a common problem, yes indeed.
