V-tec solenoid ???????

V-tec solenoid ???????
Today we were pulling off my head from my old block. When we disconnected the wires on the v-tec solenoid this little white plastic piece fell out. I cant seem to fit it back into place. But the solenoid still plugs up fine and locks into place. My question is do I really need this piece in there or can I just chunk it. I lmow I really didnt supply lots of info but Im sure someone knows what Im talking about. Thanks a lot.........

I wouldn't chuck anything that falls from the engine bay, especially around the VTEC area.
if you can take a picture of that and post it up if you don't know what it is.
