Default Using starter to remove harmonic ballencer bolt.

What do you think of this method? If you don't know what I'm talking about u can find like 5 videos on YouTube.

Basicly I have tried 2 diffrent impact wrenches. 1 was a Matco 1/2 inch and the other is one I just picked up at lowes for 180$ that says it does 600ft/lbs but both failed. So I'm thinking this might be my best bet but I don't know how safe it is or what dammaged I might cause

i dont think it will work. Best bet is one of those impacts youve used and a torch to heat up the bolt red hot. Works everytime. Might take some effort to find and borrow a torch, but its worth the trouble. Im not talking about a hand held propane torch either.

i do it on some trucks at work when i need to remove the bolt and there is no room for an impact gun....it's not the best way but it seems to work.

BUT.......i don't know how you will plan to pull it off on a honda engine that cranks/spins counter clockwise. mmmm...

either will work, and you'll need them to be able to tighten it back.. trust me, 3 bolts, 2 pullies, and 1 motor later, i finally learned my lesson.. no amount of thread lock will keep it on if it's not torqued properly..

google "honda crank pulley tool" and go to shopping.. theirs a lot of styles, some as low as ~30 bucks..

EDIT: Snap-on makes one under the Blue Point name i believe, though I can't find the part number.. help?
