Using MBE ecu's / non standard crank trigger?
Hi there,
I had a bit of a search around and noticed a few old for sale posts for engines that were running MBE management with a modified distributor. I was wondering if anyone has details on this as the MBE systems require 60-2 or 36-1 teeth. I guess a custom reluctor would have to be machined, and fitted to the distributor although how you would manage to achive this i dont know, as fitting in excess of 60 teeth on in a small space like that wouldnt be easy. Perhaps MBE supplied modified firmware with different trigger requirements also?
For those that havent seen them before, MBE's (very out of date) website is http://www.mbesystems.com/ although there is a bit more info here on a dealers site http://www.sbdev.co.uk/Engine_...n.htm
Id be interested in seeing anyone's aftermarket/DIY crank triggers - i know you can get the kit from Electromotive, but i really need to keep A/C and PAS. There looks like very little space to be able to fit an off the shelf trigger wheel to the stock crank pulley.
Cheers,
Mark.
