Default Using a CRV gearbox for RWD?

Hi everyone, I'm not very well known on here so first a quick hello

My names Rickie and im from England, my 2 passions are Old Fords and B series Honda's...

Now lately ive been toying with the idea of putting the two togeather..

I've had my sights on a Anglia 100e and looking to B series it RWD.

Now i understand the b series is backwards so the engine will still need to be mounted as if its in a civic (intake at bulkhead)

However i only want the car RWD... Is there a way of converting a B20 CRV's gearbox to RWD only??

4WD is not a 'done thing' in the Ford world

Many thanks, Rickie

I know it is not a "B" engine but why not go with the S2000 F20C or F22C1 engine and the S2000 transmission.

We have a guy here in our industrial strip mall that put them into a 64 Mini Cooper and is now doing a 1983 Toyota Celica GT-S Coupe, the Mini was just too scary for him, not exactly the platform for a 240bhp RWD car.94

You can't realistically get away with using a CR-V transmission. The transfer case really wasn't designed for full time use, and even if it was it was only designed to put 20% engine power to the rear wheels.

I would do what FCM said, or look into a K-series and fab up an adapter plate to mount it to some other transmission since it rotates clockwise.

The actual main reason behind a crv is cost. There are quite a few 4x4 civics on YouTube at the min using Crv gearboxes, seem to be running quite well but I would prefer RWD. I already have a good b18 block and a CRV can be had for pennies here - a s2000 lump with loom can cost from £1700!
