Hey guys! Sorry if this post is in the wrong section I couldn't find a better place to post so if this isnt the right place feel free to move this post.

So here is my question, I recently picked up a 97 integra with a b18b1 engine, it has I/H/E nothing too special.
However, the seller specified that the car was running a P72 ECU tuned by a professional shop for a B20VTEC and apparently the rpm cuts out at 10,500 which is unrealistic for a non vtec b18 engine. Now my question is, is there a way to put a stock b18b map using a laptop and Crome? the car uses a obd2 to obd1 harness so it is obd1 and the ECU is already chipped. What do I need to use Crome and how do I do it?
Btw, shouldn't the car run pretty bad if it really ran an ecu tuned for a b20 vtec? I know it shows a CEL for missing VTEC.

buy a stock p75 obd2 ecu and plug it in
and sell the gsr or keep it for future projects.

nope, this is my first time posting here, so if i really wanted to use crome what would i need? he also gave me a stock p75 ecu with it but it looks like it has been sitting in the garage in a corner somewhere for over 10 years i doubt it still works hehe

 

plug it in and check dont matter how it looks

you will need crome when you decide to build the engine.

but it will have harder time passing emissions with modified ecu because theres no obd2 port functionality once you switch to chipped obd1 ecu

you need at least a chip burner and computer

go to pgmfi.org they have the scrolls from the old days where everything is explained since the begining.

you plug in your stock ecu - you dont mess with anything just drive the car and live a happy life

you plug in the chipped ecu- you start to read and get ideas and start digging deeper into this world and you might end up broke with a baller car and no jeans to wear to a night club...

the choice is yours

thanks for your input though, i think ill spend a couple bucks to get a used p75 ecu somewhere instead of running this unknown ecu that doesnt even have a rev limiter, this will be better than blowing the engine and then I would have to get a type-r or something because you know... blown engine = best excuse to upgrade
