OKay so i bought a type r head and when i got home i realized i was missing the cam caps above cylinder 1 so i took some off of my gsr head. I need to know what to do to make them work and how much the machine shop would generally charge me?

 

I didn't think that it was possible to line bore. There is no bearing for the cams. An increased bore would loosen the tolerance.

 

You might be able to have a machine shop take a micrometer at it to see if it is a huge difference in size, they may be able to hone them to match, not sure if this will take you out of spec or not, the tolerance is small.

 

I would worry about a head with missing cam caps anyway. If the owner was careless enough to misplace the caps, how did they treat the head?
