Default the ups man!

So this morning i wake up to my surprise the UPS man left me a b18a1 block now to the real questions.. yes i am new at this but yes i have searched.

My plans are to go FI in the long run but I need to get the block built first.. its getting shipped off to get resleeved and bored out to 84mm now.. second question is what pistons would you guys recommend for say... 8.5:1 compression? I'm going to be using a b16a head..

second question. driving around with 8.5:1 compression is going to make driving a little ruff/slow due to low compression

third question.. after getting the block i inspected it and right next to the oil filter theres a green sensor. the plastic around the pins is broke and one of the pins is bent and is touching the other pin.. what sensor is this? and should i get it replaced or just plug it in when i do the swap?

what kind of forced induction are you planning on? For turbo and supercharging, you wont have much lag with that compression, however if you plan on using nitrous only, you will have some bog when your not spraying. Is it daily driven? Will you be driving it a lot while off the juice? that sensor may be your oil sending unit, i may be wrong , but its right next to my oil filter on my prelude.

the FI is going to be turbocharged, running 11-12psi around town and ~20psi (if i'm lucky) at the track. My goal is 350-500 HP, yeah i know its a broad range but i'll be happy anywhere between that. As of right now its not going to be a daily driver but its always subject to change if my EX decides to die on my someday.

yea, that compression should be ok. With 11-12 psi you should be close to 300, with 20psi, im sure you would be hitting your goal.
