My friend and I are installing the following in my 99 Civic Si (B16a2) this Sunday:
We are doing this without removal of the head.
00-01 ITR cams
Portflow inners, ITR outer springs
Portflow Ti retainers
ITR intake manifold, CTR throttle body
Spoon Ventuli plate
Timing belt and tensioner
What "little" or not so little things do I still need from the dealer??
Cam caps?? valve keepers??, etc.??
Can I wait on the water pump for a few weeks?
Thanks

yes, but is that really wise to perform swapping out the springs without removing the head??? what if you lose one of those little clips? then it will turn into a much bigger project trying to find it...you'll have to drop the pan etc etc.....

if you are not changing the valves, most people take out the spark plug and put airpresure to keep the valves up so they don't fall, i have done this, and i'm telling you this cuz i read it in a post not long ago, so, you can take out the four spark plugs and make some sort of conection and keep that at 80 psi or around (i think that was the presure, not sure tough) and you will be able to work without being worried of something falling

Just FYI.. I know this is ITR forum, but I'm sure you guys are interested in hearing this.
I dropped a B16A into my hatch(previously the B17/B20).. I need cash so I am selling the motor, but that's another discussion.
Anyway, this is a fairly simple setup. I was surprised at how well it runs.
99 Si bottom end, stock.
01 ITR head/manifold/tb, stock.
Spoon Ventuli Plate
1 layer headgasket (10.6:1 maybe?)
Stock USDM ITR exhaust manifold, gutted cat and ITR b-pipe
Low end is PHENOMENAL. Seriously. I have never felt a B16A with low end punch like this. It feels almost like a stock GSR motor until about 4500-5000.
Top end is a little lethargic. Nothing to brag about there.. but the low and mid is great for the street. I'm impressed with the ventuli.
