Unsolveable problem: Stutter / misfire
Well I finally got to run your bin Boosted Chemist, it runs a LOT better but it's still misfiring and has no power. It seems like it struggles to hit 3k rpm. The timing is like 6 degrees advanced from where mine was so I don't know how much more I'd want to advance it, though! Thoughts?
n2oef, plugs are gapped at 0.028". I've tried stock gap, no difference

Sure, if you feel like it!
You're using a b16 turbo on Crome right? Using 450cc injectors? If so maybe I could just try your bin.

well im b16a turbo and using crome, but im also 9:1 and 880s, which are a pita to get to idle nice

OK, I just used a test lead, wired a standard harness pin to one end and an ECU pin to the other end and literally bypassed the TPS wire and the MAP signal wire. No change. TPS and MAP power were both at 5V and the ground seemed good on each as well. So I doubt either of those are the problem.
Possibility of this being a mechanical issue. It only happens when the engine is maintaining speed or coasting down. It vanishes as soon as the engine is accelerating at a decent pace. You don't notice it in a parking garage but it becomes more noticeable in higher gears.

I have datalogged and while there were some spikes in the RPM trace, they had no correlation at all with the problem. I think they were just glitches in Uberdata. IAT, ECT, RPM and TPS were all logging just fine with no glitches other than the RPM randomly spiking.
SOHFAST, I'll email you some pics when I get home, thanks
I've tried multiple maps and different injector CCs so I'll just email you the one I'm running right now with the 450s.
And yes, it's stock ignition with new plugs gapped at 0.028" and a brand new distributor.

It's from a local company that manufactures them for the canadian market
My brother's also using one on his LS/VTEC with no problems.

I want to say. You NEED to try a different set of injectors.. I had this problem once.. redid everything.. still stumbled... then a new set of injectors.. and Bamm...it was fixed...
try it out.. see what you get .. looks like you have replaced everything but injectors. .. i bet one is dirty

I put my old 240cc injectors and my old 240cc map back in... same problem
I've also checked the wiring to the injectors and resoldered... no change.
I'm freaking stumped. I'm considering replacing the entire wiring harness, interior and exterior, with a completely re-loomed and inspected replacement stock harness from a donor car, and getting an OBD0-OBDI conversion harness and just forgetting the whole thing. If I knew it was a harness problem, that is.
*edit* Can a resistor box go bad?? That's about the only part of the fuel system I haven't looked at/replaced.

I had the same problem last night. I searched and found your thread. The problem I'm having is the same as yours. It's only noticable at high gears and I have an LS/Vtec. I was on the freeway last night and around a steady 3.5-4k the car would slow down, lose power and hear a slight popping sound out my header back straight exhaust.
If I let off the throttle and get back on it, it'll disappear but come back after a minute. If I give it more gas, it also goes away and come back. There was one time where it started popping and I gave it more gas, it kept popping then suddenly power came back in and car started pulling. I cant explain this problem or think of whats wrong. I think its because theres too much timing. Or maybe a bit lean, but that does not explain how its just doing this On/Off thing.

I'm trying to make another right now!
