Default Type-R swap question...

On h-motorsonline they have the B18C 96-00 (TypeR) Complete Change Over
it its 4300.00-96-97 Spec
and 4900.00 98Spec+
what is the difference between the 96-97 and the 98. that would make the 98+ worth $600 more

I dont know if Hmotors include the header or not, but the 96-97 ITR came with a 4-1 header, where the 98+ came with a 4-2-1 design. That, along with more aggressive cams and different Final Drive (96 = 4.40, 98+ = 4.785, gear ratios are the same for both trannies) make the 98+ a slightly better engine, performance wise.

Both are obviously a very stout setup. I'd say its worth an extra $600 if you plan on keeping it stock. If you plan on swapping out cams and doing tranny work, etc etc, then just get the cheaper one and build it from there.
