type r piston on ls rods

will type r "usdm" piston work on a ls rod in a b18a1 block with out any mods?

I think you have to shave the rod ends, but I can't remember.

they are not a simple direct fit. the rods require some modification to fit.

why not get a set of B16 pistons. they fit without modification and will give you a slightly higer compression ratio........
