Default type r or aftermarket?

i am looking into building the block of my b16. iive heard that more power can come from the type r products than the aftermarket. I was looking atwiseco pistons and eagle rods, putting my compression at around 11:1 or so. but is it true about the type r stuff? what should i do?

Your questions are too general to get very specific with a response, so I'll just say yes type r "stuff" is of high quality. In the case of rods & pistons, generally we Honda enthusiasts look to the aftermarket for specific reasons. Pistons for bores larger than 81.5mm and for forged pistons which stand up to the heat of FI or nitrous better than OEM Honda pistons. Type R rods are fine for many applications, but if you're going to be putting alot of stress on them it just makes sense to go with some rods intended to take it. I chose Eagle rods & JE pistons for my own car because IMO they were the highest quality components available for my particular application for what I was looking to spend.
