Type R pistons and Eagle Rods compatible?
Just rebuilt GS-R using type R pistons and Eagle rods, pistons score cylinders on each side on all cylinders in the same exact place. The wrist pins slide freely back and forth but there is no wobble could this have caused the pistons to fry my block? Anyone else use aftermarket rods with type R pistons before successefully?

did you have some grooves cut in the pistons to put a clip in so the wrist pins wont slide out?

itr pistons are press fit, why would you use them with eagle rods when stock rods are perfectly fine? Eagle rods are meant to be used with a piston that has a full floating pin and circlips. You could have your itr pistons machined to accept the circlip, but its kind of a waste. As far as your block goes, its time to invest in an overbore, and some oversized forged pistons w circlips to match your eagle rods. Shitty that you had to learn this by damaging your engine.

When I bought the car it had a bent rod, so I was building the bottom end bought the rods and got a deal on the pistons, not really a good deal now. Thanks for the input
