Is a twin loop muffler restrictive?
i am planning on doing my exhaust on my car.i plan on doing 2.5" piping w/gutted cat or test pipe to an OBX twin loop replica muffler which i already purchased. Someone mentioned to me a regular performance muffler would flow better because with the twin loop the exaust gases passes through twice which i already know. Anybody running a twin loop on a b20v or lsv build up? was my friend right? if he is...is it a noticeable difference?
In my experience, unless you are making gobs of power (300+whp), then it really won't make a difference with the whole straight through/chambered/twinloop/etc. Perhaps in your case, you might lose a whole 8-10hp top end, but do you really care? I would rather go with something a little less "flashy/loud" and a little more quiet.
Take me for example, I was boosting around 18psi, but I went with an Apexi World sport. Weird, eh? But boy, did I love the quietness.

i dont know from previous experience but i would think if you threw on a straight thru muffler you're gonna notice some type of a differance between the straight thru and twin loop.
if you're just worried bout noise levels, stick with the twin loop. if you're lookin for performance i would go with some type of straight thru design. i've looked at buying the twin loop before but opted for the Vibrant flat black muffler. i figured since i am not gonna run a cat, why would i run a twin loop?

i plan on running gutted cat or test pipe with a twin loop.
