is this ture for the d series
is it true that a dseries with 140whp in the same car and weight and driver and everything as a b series with 160whp the dseries will come out on top if so y
Just think about it. The only variable in your equation is the hp of the motors (assuming same weight, driver, and chassis). Of course the one w/ higher hp will win.
There are a couple of other variables:
- torque before peak power is reached
- gearing
- weight difference between motors
I saw this claim made in an earlier post about tuning the sohc...
I'm not sure that I buy it, but I'd love to be convinced!

if everything else is equal like you asked why would a motor with less power win?sorry
We already know that the D s' is lighter, that helps he's only 20 hp off, weight makes up for a big dif. then torque like someone said before you'd have to look at all the possibilities dont knock out the d16 tho it is possible....

You know, it really depends on the condition of the motor.
Alot of D-series guys out there, putting out 140-145 HP have beat a B16 powered 4g car... But it's mostly because the B16 is old, tired, and it isn't putting out it's full potential of HP and torque.
Right now my motor feels a little bit stronger than my friend's B16 powered CRX. But then again, his exhaust is too restrictive.

Or because stock B16 untuned only puts down 140whp itself and weights 100 lbs more than the D16.
