Default Tuning my b16 with a VAFC

Alright my car needs some tuning pretty damn bad. It's a '92 motor that's been properly wired to work with a 99-00 Si ECU which is what it's running on right now, plus I have CTR cams, ITR intake mani, Megan 4-1 header, 2.25" exhaust, and a cf 3" short ram intake. Problem is, Im now on a tight budget...I was thinking of just going ahead and buying a used VAFC and tuning with it for now until I have the money later down the road to get another chipped p28 and tune with that. I've got a few questions though

1)Would I actually feel the difference from being untuned right now and from being tuned with a VAFC?
2) Is tuning with a VAFC safe?
3) Could I gain a pretty good amount from it considering what I have and that it's completely untuned right now?

I know you guys know a lot about this stuff which is why I asked here. Give me some real honest answers b/c Im making my decision mostly based upon what you guys tell me. I just want my car to be reliable and be pretty quick until I have the money to really build it up.

find a non vtec obd1 ecu like a p06 and get it chipped w/ vtec support, the cost will be lesser than a virgin p28. get it tuned w/ some diy ems. vafc are overated for tuning, all they can do is adjust fuel, both fuel and ignition adjustments are needed to be tuned correctly. but other people get the spoon/mugen chips and tune w/ vafc since those chips come w/ aggressive ignition maps. its up to you.
