Default Tuning is Everything!

So how do you do it? I have a Zdyne with VTEC and NOS control but I'm all motor right now. I loaded the basic B16 tune but how can I improve it? Where do I start? What exactly is tuning? Setting fuel and ignition tables? How do you do it? Can someone with experience give me some pointers?

doesn't zdyne provide some type of a manual with the programmable ecu?
tune the car at first with just what you have. then start plying with the ignition adn fuel maps.

check the timing, check sparkplugs (to see if you are running rich or lean)

you're not going to get a whole lot of info about tuning... it's kind of a secret edge that people have. The only way to learn how to tune is to just do it. Look at your base map and figure out your mods. Then adjust things based on your findings. Every car is different and there is no single answer to your problem

How do I tune against my mods? For example, I have CTR cams. What and where would I modify to get the best bang for the buck? Ignition? Fuel? Both?

get on a dyno!!! it's the only way. U make a change and see how your dyno plots change. Your local dyno should have a wide band o2 sensor they can hook up while your on the dyno, and this should help with trimming the fule map. your not going to need to add much fuel unless your FI, but just get on a dyno and play with settings all day.
