Default Tuning - correcting hesitations

Ok when i floor it, it pulls hard up from like 4000-5000. then it kinda hesitates like someone grabbed my rear bumper till like 6500 then it pulls hard again till redline.

Not being engine specific, but going on theorys and principles, what causes this lack of pull to momentary happen?

First what are you running for engine management? Do you have a wideband ?

A sudden and significant decrease in power output. It's probably associated with a LO->HI cam changeover. Could be far too lean (lambda > 1) or not enough ignition advance on the HI cam.

Try it with the x-over moved up higher to see how consistent the power output is beyond the original x-over point.

What engine, ECU, and cams are you using?

h22a, jp13 w/ e-manage, stock cams, jrsc @6psi, wideband

so if under 6psi i am pulling -5º, then i should pull less timing while in vtec? wouldn't that lead to detonation problems?

It could also be a boost leak at the manifold. Does the boost gauge hold the 6psi all the way through?

What about plug gap?

If you're going to put timing back into it....add two to three degrees back, one degree at a time. If you don't see positive results by that time, move on to something else.

A motor can run like poo if you don't have enough timing in it. And, since I can't judge how much timing you're actually running, you're just going to have to work slowly and carefully.

I'm kinda curious...does the e-manage show pressure vs. RPM or TPS vs. RPM on the main airflow adjustment chart?
