Default Tuning

Can anyone give me a basic run down on how I should go about tuning my DA. I am running a t3t4 on 7-10psi, 450cc injectors, and a walbro 255. I am looking for about 225-250whp and I want to know how I should set this up.

1.) What are the pros and cons to swapping to chipped OBD1 and tunning it that way?

2.) What are the pros and cons to staying with OBD0 and tuning it this way?

3.) Also where can I get a tunning program, the cables, and a wide band.

If anyone can think of anything else I need plz let me know. This is my first boost project and I still have a lot to learn. Any info will help. thanks guys!

Do your self a favor.
Go obd1, get your self a neptune rtp or hondata s300 and be happy.

you're gonna need a socketed and chipped obd1 ecu to use any of these systems. look in the marketplace for deals on hondata systems.

Yes sir. I believe I have spoken with you before about this time last year.

to you.

my bad I see. Fixed for you. (blush)

I get confused with all the net, com, org things sometimes. I have them all saved in favorites anyways so I have correct links.

OBD1 FTW!

you really want to take your car to a tuning shop with a dyno running obd1. they can tune your fuel maps and timing maps cell by cell, which will give you a good tune.

if you tune yourself with obd0 and turboedit, its just a guessing game (and you will need a wideband o2 as well...)

i tuned my d15b2 with the street and my wb, because its a cheap piece of crap i can blow up and not feel bad about. i wouldnt wana do that to a B....

no matter what you do, get a chipped ECU. the moates programmers work the same as Willem programmers but are built much better and easier to use.

turboedit is free for download. i am using an innovate lc-1 wideband and I am very happy. it offers datalogging which is very useful.

you can also datalog with an obd0 ecu..
check out http://www.pgmfi.org for obd0 info

if you have any specific obd0, turboedit, or lc-1 questions PM me

if i was going to do it all again, i wouldnt buy the wideband and would put that money towards getting my car tuned professionally.

ive tuned with bre when i had obd0 and it works good but has some limitations. I know ben from here in spokane who is the guy who created it, and from what i understand he is done adding more to it. he has stopped tuning for people and everything. but the only real limitation problem i had with it was that if you want to go bigger than 450cc injectors it has a hard time. i had my b16 running 10psi with dsm450cc injectors and the car ran great. anyway it works ok but it also depends if you are running a vtec engine or not. in BRE for an ls (non vtec engine in general) you have to use a vtec map and just set vtec to 7000 rpm so it never hits it. the problem there is most engines rev higher than that. just run crome if your going this route, if you have obdo the conversion is easy all you do is buy the harness and switch the dizzy wiring a bit and it runs great. crome just has way more support for vtec and non vtec engines, it has way better boost support and all around easy to use.
