Tuning ??????
I have a 94 cx with a b16 with Type R mani, JE 11.1 pistons, head shaved all the way, 1mm oversized valves, upgraded valvetrain, MSD dizzy with coil, stage 2 cams, buddyclub cam gears, chipped p28 ecu, motor rebuilt 3 months ago...The car is untuned... Will a street tune give my car more power and is it necissary for a dyno tune, and do I have to buy a wideband to get the car tuned? Just curious never had a car tuned before and want to no the advantages
street tuning can give you good power... and can set you up for dyno tune, however street tune with take your application only so far and will look towards a dyno tune to get some good power out of it, esp with the camshafts and gears, adjusting the timing and whatnot can give you better advantages
If you know what you're doing a street tune can help make some more power and make your engine a little healthier.
You state that you have a chipped P28. What is it chipped with? Do you have any method of adjusting ignition timing? Add/remove fuel? Do you have the cam gears adjusted from stock cam position?
If this is your first project take it to someone and have it tuned on a dyno. While they are tuning ask them if you can watch because you want to learn about it.
