Default troubleshooting vtec

i have a 94 acura integra 1.8 vtec i dont think its working can someone tell me how to troubleshoot it without taking it to dyno thanks

vtec works on oil pressure, when the motor is not cold, and you can run a test light or something with a wire through your fender. take it out in first gear and see if your light comes on once vtec engages.
