Troubleshooting LSVTEC w/ Chipped P06 Won't Stay Running w/ CELs
Hey everyone. I'm hoping someone here can help shed some light on my issue. I'm going to give as many details as possible, so bare with me.
Now, the CEL is on and I tried to jump the service port with a paperclip to read the CEL flash code. However, the CEL never flashes, but the ABS and Parking Brake light do. Below is a video of that...
Does anyone have an idea as to what is going on? I need to check the CEL, but I cannot get it to flash. Has anyone else had this issue after doing the conversion? The block was never removed, and the only sensors unplugged were on the head. I plugged in the IACV on the throttle body, however, the following plugs are not able to plug in as there's nowhere for them to go on the intake manifold.
- Vehicle: 2000 Integra LS (OBD2B)
- Block: B18B1
- Head: B16A2
- Cams: Stock B16A2
- Intake Manifold: B16 (Honda PN: 17100-P2T-A00)
- Dizzy: OBD2 for a 2001 ITR
- ECU: Chipped P06 w/OBD2B to OBD1 Conversion Harness

Thanks for the response. I will try that in the morning to see if I can read the codes. FWIW, the P06 ECU started and ran without issue on the car prior to swap.

Is the timing right?
Could the MAP sensor and TPS sensor connectors be switched?
Is the TPS voltage calibrated?

Re: LSVTEC Won't Stay Running & CEL Issue
1. Timing was spot on when we did it. However, I do not have a timing light to verify.
2. Connectors cannot physically be switched without maximum effort as the TPS plug is very short and barely reaches the MAP. For science, I swapped the 2 plugs and as soon as I touched the throttle just a tap, the motor nearly died.
3. I'm not sure how I would do that/

I'm not sure a stock non vtec SOHC ECU OBD1 (P06) even chipped can run an OBD2x DOHC vtec motor. I think that's your biggest issue. I thought you needed to chip a DOHC vtec ECU (P72?). The P06 doesn't have provisions for knock sensor, the crank sensor or vtec.
I think even the P28 vtec SOHC OBD1 ECU might struggle with a DOHC motor if chipped.
I think you need to do a full piggyback system like Hondata S300 to get the additional features required to run the DOHC motor properly.

Have you tried his ECU to see if it gives you the same grief? If it does, it would point away from the ECU.
